Sri Priya Sundararajan is a Technical Program Manager at a leading Bay Area technology company. She has worked in the semiconductor industry at Advanced Micro Devices, Altera and in the optical telecommunications industry at Cisco, Infinera and One Chip Photonics with a breadth of knowledge that includes silicon photonics and III-V based lasers, photonic integrated circuits and integrated optical transceivers. She received her doctorate in the field of nanophotonics from the Department of Electrical Engineering at Rice University. She received her B.S. and M.Eng. in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University which inculcated a life long love and appreciation of photonics in her, from the day she fired up her first nitrogen laser built with a crew of five other freshman to today. She is passionate about STEM outreach and Inclusion and Diversity in all fields of technology and has organized a series of workshops for girls in middle and high school entitled “Photonics is Fun” with organizations such as the Sunnyvale Public Library and the Girl Scouts of Northern California. She is proud to have been part of the Women in Photonics steering committee from its inception in 2015 to today.
